SOUTHEND United have been placed under a transfer embargo, according to the National League website.
The Shrimpers had been in an embargo for 15 months before having it removed just before Christmas.
But an online post from the league today confirmed Blues have again been banned from making signings due to ‘non-compliance with league financial regulations.’
It is understood the Shrimpers were made aware of the embargo at 2pm on Friday afternoon and are already working towards getting it removed.
Blues had a winding up petition, issued by Stewarts Law, adjourned by the High Court for six weeks on Wednesday and the Echo understands that is the reason for the embargo.
The consortium headed up by Justin Rees agreed exchanged contracts with current club chairman Ron Martin just before Christmas but the deal has yet to be officially completed.
