AA is reporting an average speed of ten miles per hour.
The city is expected to be busy this weekend, with many families flocking to the coast to soak up the sunshine as the school holidays draw to a close.
This half-term traffic could also be affected by temporary traffic signals on Shorefield Road at Western Esplanade, as Essex and Suffolk Water is carrying out maintenance works, with delays in Shorefield Road and Palmeira Avenue.
One.network states delays are "possible" while these works are carried out until Tuesday, April 16.
