GREAT Wakering Rovers midfielder Ben Search cannot wait to be part of Wembley’s non-league finals day for the second time in four years this weekend.

Search was an unused substitute for Concord Rangers’ 1-0 defeat to Harrogate Town in the 2021 FA Trophy final.

And Search believes that experience will stand him in good stead for this afternoon’s FA Vase final with Romford.

“Of course the experience of being there before will help,” said Search.

“It is a completely different situation this time but to have been there before does help play a part and calm emotions.”

However, Search looks certain to start this time around after becoming a key player for Wakering this season.

And he cannot wait for kick-off.

“I can't wait to play at Wembley,” said Search.

“It is every boys’ dream to play there and I am fortunate enough to have that chance.

“It is a dream come true.”

And Search feels it is extra special to have made Wembley with such a close-knit Wakering side.

“To be part of this Great Wakering side is a pleasure” said Search.

“This season has been an amazing season and it is all down to the great people, the club, the staff and my teammates.”

But Search knows it will be far from straightforward against Romford.

“We know it is going to be a tough game against Romford,” said Search.

“They are a very good, physical side with very good individual players.

“We have to respect them and understand they can hurt us.

“On the other hand there are weaknesses we know we can exploit but it will be a tough game for sure.”

Search will be again be aiming to make a difference.

But he is not the only one to be doing that from his old school, Greensward.

“I went to school with (Southend United’s) Oli Coker,” said Search.

“He is actually one of my best mates.

“I have a lot of time for Oli and to see what he has achieved is great.

“His dedication and time that he has given up for the sport is unbelievable.

“ He is a great player and I am sure he will have a long successful career.”
