WILDLIFE lovers can catch a rare glimpse of owls flying at night during a special event near Billericay.

The Imperial Bird of Prey Academy, based at Barleylands Farm, is set to host a series of night-time events in February and March so residents can see the birds fly like they would in the wild. At least three owls, including tawny owl Mr Forbes, will be on show, and visitors may also have the chance to handle some of the birds.

Two or three dates, which have to be confirmed, will include a rustic hot supper. Volunteer Andy Linford said: “It’s a new experience we want to offer people.”
