FIRE crews from across Southend and Rochford extinguished a blaze in a derelict building in Rochford's Mill Lane on Saturday night.

Due to the number of calls to Essex Fire and Rescue five crews attended the site next to Stambridge Mills.

Crews were called to the already derelict 10mx10m building at 8.51pm on Satuday, February 15 and had extinguished the fire by 9.45pm.

Six main jets operated by crews wearing breathing apparatus were used to tackle the fire from outside due to the roof collapsing.
