A MANHUNT has been launched after £300 of meat was taken from a supermarket.

Police are seeking this man after the alleged theft from the Co-op in London Road, Benfleet.

It is alleged the man walked into the shop in Great Tarpots at around 6pm on Saturday, March 8, took the meat from display and left without making an attempt to pay for the items.

He is described as white, around 5ft 5ins tall, and was wearing a black jacket with red writing on it and a blue baseball cap.

Police released the CCTV image of the man today.
