A CAR crashed into the side of a bungalow in Benfleet on Wednesday evening.

Police were called out to the scene in Thundersley Park Road near the junction with Bread and Cheese Hill just after 7pm after receiving reports a black Ford Fiesta had flipped upside down and careered into the derelict building.

Firefighters from Rayleigh Weir fire station were also called to the scene to help retrieve the vehicle and make the property safe with the help of a structural engineer.

At present it has not been confirmed whether anyone was injured or taken to hospital as a result of the crash.

Another one? Like the one in Rayleigh a few weeks ago.

What is wrong with these people that they can't keep control of a car? Cars don't just flip over.

Obviously driving like a lunatic. Somebody must have been, for that to happen. And some of the worst I've seen aren't boy racers, they're often middle aged men who think they're Jack the Lad.

Not sure if you are familiar with the junction, but it is an accident hotspot, terrible angle and awful vision right on the brow of the hill. Certainly not the first time its happened here. I hope to God that nobody was hurt.

As for the man v women v boy racer debate, my husband and I constantly battle as to who are the worse drivers so I have been taking stock over the last couple months. As much as it pains me to admit it, of all of the incidents of bad, inconsiderate or, in a couple of cases downright dangerous driving that I have witnessed, all but one have been women drivers. And they don't seem to care about it either! I haven't mentioned this to my husband, life would be intolerable!
