A BODY has been found after a man went missing from Leigh.

Police launched a desperate search for Jack Fenwick, 27, who left his Herschell Road home sometime over night.

Family and friends tried to contact him but he had not responded and his father reported him missing at 5am today.

An Essex Police spokeswoman said following a call from a member of the public reporting seeing a man matching Mr Fenwick's description, a body had been found.

It was found at a nature reserve in Barling at 12.30pm.

Police said his family have been informed and a formal identification will be undertaken in due course.

The police helicopter and police search officers had been called in to help search for Mr Fenwick.
