FOOTBALL widows can dance the night away while their other halves watch the World Cup in silence.

Bar Zero, in Western Road, Billericay, is showing Englandメs first match at 11pm on Saturday, June 14.

But in order not to disappoint WAGs who want to go out clubbing, they will be handing out headphones so football fans can watch and listen without disturbing others.

Owner Ian Reading said he was hoping for some interesting, and unannounced, cheers if England score.

He said: モI think it is going to be a major problem for lots of bars and pubs because it is being shown at 11pm. So what do you do? All the girls want to carry on dancing and having fun so you canメt turn around and say ムwe are switching to commentary nowメ.

モIt will be like a silent disco with the football commentary being pumped through headphones.

モA lot of businesses will be showing the footie on screens, but not many will have any sound at that time of night.

モI think we are the first to come up with this around here.ヤ Bar Zero reopened six weeks ago after Mr Reading took it on following a ᆪ500,000 revamp.

He said so far the bar had been very successful.

He said: モEveryone has been really positive, which is nice.

モWeメre not looking to become a sports bar with this, but the World Cup is a huge event and people want to see it.

モWe will be showing all the important games and a lot of them wonメt be at 11pm on a Saturday, but if there are more then we wonメtmind doing it again.

モWeメll be keeping our fingers crossed England get through to the knock out stages and just see what happens after that.ヤ
