A MAN had acid thrown in his face following a roadside altercation in Thundersley.

Two motorists initially had a verbal spat at the Rayleigh Weir roundabout at about 11pm on Tuesday, June 3.

The same individuals later had a further argument about 15 minutes later on Kingsmere in Thundersley and this is when a 27-year-old man from Rayleigh had acid thrown in his face.

He was rushed to hospital by paramedics and is continuing to recover there.

Officers are looking to identify and locate a man who is suspected of being involved in the attack.

He is described as white, aged in his 30s, is approximately 5ft 8ins tall, is of skinny build, has a gold hoop earring in one ear, has short brown hair with short sides and a longer ‘V’ at the back shaped into a point at the top.

At the time, he was wearing a light-grey polo shirt, blue denim jeans, a black hoodie which has small red toggles on the ends of the cord and worn and dirty white Nike trainers which have a bubble in the heel.

A 30-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were arrested at their home address in Rayleigh on Wednesday, June 4 on suspicion of assault.

They are currently on police bail until Thursday, August 14, pending further enquiries.
