TWO adorable baby owls have been named thanks to two Echo readers.
The Barn Owls, born at Marsh Farm on April 10 and April 12, are now called Barney and Elsa, after Echo readers thought of the most fitting names.
More than 60 people entered the competition, but it was three-year-old Aycer Mintahmasebi and five-yearold Aleesha Wheeler, from Basildon, who came up with the winning names.
The children both received an annual pass to visit Marsh Farm, in South Woodham Ferrers.
Aleesha’s grandma, Sam Wheeler, 50, said: “She named the owl after Elsa from Frozen.
Along with most five-year-olds in Basildon at the moment she is obsessed with it!
“She really enjoyed her day at the farm, It was a wonderful experience for her to see the birds so close up.”
Barney and Elsa’s parents, Poppy and Freddy, are now a year old, and can be seen regularly in Marsh Farm’s bird of prey displays.
