A Canvey pub has reopened.
The Admiral Jellicoe, in High Street, was closed for weeks after former landlord Mark Lester left.
However, the new landlord, Colin Smith, 47, reopened it on Thursday.
The pub has one bar open while the property undergoes major renovation.
Mr Smith said: “We opened last Thursday and it was a very successful night.
“We had many old and new customers come in, showing their support.”
The landlord is hoping the renovation work will be completed by the end of July.
Mr Smith added: “So far, we’ve received positive feedback and we aim to provide a family-friendly atmosphere.
“We have a new beer garden and we’ll also be bringing in a bouncy castle for the summer.
“We will also book live entertainment for the weekends.”
