A BRAND new Aldi store will be opening its doors in Pitsea this week.

The unveiling of the supermarket, in Northlands Pavement, marks the latest stage of the long awaited £30million regeneration.

The new-look Pitsea market opened earlier this year, complete with 100 stalls, while a 75,000 sq ft Morrisons superstore is on schedule to be completed by March next year.

Richard Moore, councillor responsible for regeneration and planning, said: “The Pitsea regeneration scheme is aimed at revitalising and transforming the town for the benefit of the whole community.

“The new Aldi store is an important milestone in the programme of Pitsea’s redevelopment and paves the way in giving a real boost to the town.”

The new store is due to open its doors at 8am on Thursday.
