A PUB has shut for a £120,000 four-week revamp.
The Spread Eagle, in Victoria Avenue, Southend, is being transformed by new tenant Kamil Augele and owners Punch Taverns.
Eight jobs will be created.
Mr Augele said: “There will be major work throughout the pub and we will be showing BT Sport, racing channels and Sky Sport across nine screens.
“The plans look fantastic.
We will be offering the community something different and facilities to suit all.”
The pub is expected to reopen on August 12.
Paul Mathias, Punch Taverns’ partnership development manager, said: “We want to reposition the Spread Eagle as one of the leading pubs providing drinks and live sport in Southend.”
