SENTIMENTAL jewellery and valuable cutlery were stolen when burglars ransacked a house.

Local residents could hold the answers to tracking down the crooks who forced open the front door of a house in Colbert Avenue in Thorpe Bay in a daylight break-in.

They stole a large quantity of cash, several pieces of sentimental jewellery and a valuable canteen of cutlery.

Investigating officer PC Christian Forbes, said: “This burglary took place at some stage during the main part of the day so we’re hoping that someone would have noticed the burglar forcing open the front door.

“We’re appealing for local residents who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or unusual to the area to contact us.”

Anyone with information about the incident, which took place between 9.30am and 4pm on Monday, July 21, can call detectives at Southend police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
