THE mayor of Southend is to visit Poland’s biggest music festival.

Councillor Chris Walker and his wife Janet will attend the Top of the Top Festival, in Sopot, Southend’s Polish twin town, on Monday.

The Conservative councillor for Eastwood Park will meet Sopot’s mayor and other dignitaries.

The event has attracted the likes of Elton John, Lionel Richie, Johnny Cash and Whitney Houston in the past.

Wow what a plank. If the Mayors job is not to serve the people of Southend would you be kind enough as to inform us of what is is?
Public services have taken a real battering over the past 5 years and we (I presume) are paying for this person to go swanning off to Poland so I would like to know why and what does this trip do for the residents of Southend, bearing in mind Chris Walker is NOT the Mayor of Sopot.
Please take the above questions as being purely rhetorical as I don't actually give a ship what you think.

Why are you so bloody rude?

And what sort of authority are you on politicians? Are you one or have you ever been involved? Do you know how things are funded? Do you know everything about everything?

Oh and he might be a flat dweller. That should put him down in your estimation shouldn't it?

If you haven't a decent and relevant contribution to make why don't you just belt up.

As for who's funding it, it may well be part of a twinning venture which means he will probably be funding it himself.. When I was a councillor in Billericay, we went to Chauvigny with the Twinning Committee and I paid all my own travel expenses and everything associated.

The people at the end put you up free of charge and you do the same when they visit here.

That's how it usually works.

I do wish people would get the facts right before they start assuming.

Just who the hell do you think you are to be assuming what "class" people are?

Since you post under a pseudonym, none of us can actually be sure what "class" you come from.

It certainly isn't the upper one because your manners are quite appalling. Are you having a bad hair day or are you just a vile person?

I have been reading your comments on other sections and you slag everybody off just for having an opinion. You must be a champagne Socialist. They're the biggest snobs around here. And by far the most puffed up opinionated nitwits. You have all the hallmarks of one.

At least when I slag people off it's usually in retaliation and they deserve it and they are usually hypocritical, obnoxious lefties like you. You have all the charm and wit of a box of maggots.

Now do us all a favour and bog off.

Dillop.

I don't believe Kim has said anything that would be considered illegal so if you actually have done that you have been wasting your time as you will see soon enough. Try putting forward a regional argument rather than trying to scare people you disagree with into shutting up.
Being right wing does not mean you are fundamentally a racist. This is a myth propagated by the extreme left (I.e you!) To give weight to their arguments. Luckily for us (people who care about this country) that time is coming to an end and people are seeing though it.
