CHILDREN at a Rayleigh Primary School have been making mosaics to welcome future pupils.
Mosaic artist Paul Siggins has been carrying out workshops with pupils to create more than 40 circular mosaics to hang in the school’s entrance hall.
Centred around the theme of Unicef’s Right of the Child, the mosaics highlight a child’s right to protection and equality, education, health and fairness and a voice. Paul and his team were at the school for six days, working with children from the nursery right the way through to Year 6.
He said: “We never tire of the excitement children get from their mosaic experience. Once they see the incredible outcome and scale of what they’ve achieved, their pride is clear to see.”
