POLICE have made a direct appeal to a mother who has been missing with her two-year-old son for a week.

Tammy McBride, from Thurrock, and son Tommie-Khai were both last seen at Morrisons supermarket in London Road, Grays, on Thursday June 25 at around 2pm.

Chief Insp Leigh Norris, district commander for Grays, said: "I am trying to get in touch with you as I am very concerned for you both.

"I know that you feel you are doing what is best for Tommie-Khai as his mum and that you are feeling under a lot of emotional pressure.

"However we are concerned you may be running out of money and will struggle to get by.

"My primary concern is to know you are both safe and are appealing for you to bring Tommie-Khai home.

"I know you want to do what is right for your son and we can talk about how we can work this out and find a way forward.

"Please call us either on 999 or 101 so that we can talk as we really want to help you.”

Tammy is aged in her 40s, is 5ft 7ins tall and of medium build. She has shoulder length blonde hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white top.

Tommie-Khai has short blond hair and was last seen wearing a rainbow coloured striped T-shirt with trousers and white trainers.

They are believed to still be in the Thurrock area.

We would ask anyone who sees them or has any information about their whereabouts to contact Essex Police on 101.
