There’s fun for everyone this weekend as the Southend Robin Hood Country Show comes to town, bringing knights, vikings, archers, snakes, owls, ferrets, falcons and horses galore.

The event takes place in Garon Park and features a whole host of fun and activiities, from a jousting display to Punch and Judy, from vintage vehicles to gun dog demos, from chainsaw carving to a food festival.

In fact it’s said to be the biggest game and country show in Southend, spanning over the site of the park with more than 200 trade stands available.

New to this year is the Meet the Dinosaurs section on both days from 11am to 3pm, where you can meet a life-sized T-Rex, Raptor and Baby Raptor, go on Dinosaur Discovery Digs and more.

Lorraine Stevens, spokesman for organiser Aztec Events, said: “We are excited to bring the Robin Hood Country Show to Southend. We don’t know of any event in Southend where children can enter free if booked online.

“We have a fantastic show lined up with the new dinosaur attraction and a Punch and Judy show.”

Adult admissions cost £10 or £7.50 if booked in advance and concessions are £8 or £7 if booked in advance.

Tickets for children aged five to 16 are £5.
