THERE is a week left to enter nominations for this year’s Basildon Volunteer Awards.
The awards are intended to raise the profile of volunteering and recognise the contribution of people across the borough.
Categories include young volunteers, volunteering through adversity and inspirational role model.
The main category is the Tony Guyon Memorial Cup, awarded in memory of a popular member of Basildon Council’s community engagement team, who died in 2010.
Completed nomination forms must be submitted to Jessica Plant, at Basildon, Billericay and Wickford Council for Voluntary Services, by next Monday, September 7.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Towngate Theatre on September 23.
