ROLL up, roll up, step right this way for your tickets for the fantastic Funk ‘n’ Soul Circus, spearheaded by your favourite local funksters Primo Nelson.

Joining the party stompin’ bunch on stage are Husk, an equally energetic four-piece who play a blend of funk, blues and rock.

The night will also include live circus performance acts, led by fire-breathing funky man Piers van Looy of Van Loop Media and Performance, plus DJs George Gough, Chris Powell and Ben Coxon.

Everyone is encouraged to dress up in fancy costume, and as this night is a Halloween special, that’s the slant. A free glass of punch will be given to all in fancy dress.

The Funk ‘n’ Soul Circus was first held earlier this year, and was a huge success with colourfullydressed revellers packing the venue, shoulder to shoulder with funksters clad in giant paper mache heads and circus performers doing tricks.

The idea was to throw a great party while helping boost circus arts in the Southend area.

Dave Ambrose, front man for Primo Nelson, said: “ It was such a success that we’re hosting a bigger and better one on at the Maritime Rooms, in the Cliffs Pavilion. It really is going to be a special night.”

The event follows the debut album release from Primo Nelson – 4FunkSake – off of which a limited edition 7 inch single, What’s That, has also been released via streetsoulrecords.com.

Another single, Pinch, has also just been released along with a video.

Primo Nelson have had radio play on shows including BBC Radio 6 Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, Popcorner RAI2 (Italian national radio) and BBC Introducing Essex and Suffolk. The band has also recently supported Craig Charles at the Jazz Cafe and Exotique 2015 fest in Italy.
