BOB Malone is a pianist and a half. The virtuoso, who is also a singer and a songwriter, sometimes noted for his bluesy “closing bar at 3am” style, has played and toured with the likes of John Fogerty, Bruce Springsteen, Neville Brothers, Al Green, Dr John and Leon Russell.
He’ll be bringing his unquestionable talents to the Railway Hotel, Southend, on Friday, with his band.
While praised for his technical ability, Bob is also known as a showman too, promising this gig is one not to be missed.
Fi Dulake, landlady of the popular music venue, said: “This guy played keys with John Fogerty for years and is the most full-on pianist you will ever see in here. Being defiantly old-school, he’ll be pumping out tunes on our Bechstein at a volume that a piano should be. Admission is only a fiver and we are not doing advance tickets, so get down early.”
Doors open at 8pm at the pub in Clifftown Road.
