A THUG robbed a teenager as he was making his way to school.

The 15-year-old boy was walking along Broadmayne in Basildon, going towards the town centre to get to Woodlands School.

When he got near to Church Road, he was barged into by a man who then threatened the victim and demanded to know what the boy had on him.

The victim offered him a small amount of cash and the suspect ran off through some bushes, going towards Church Road.

Investigating officer, Pc Jack Mabbett, of Basildon CID, said: "This incident left the victim extremely shaken up.

"It happened on a main road which is particularly busy at this time of the day with people going to work. Somebody may have seen something and I would like them to get in touch with me if they have any information.”

The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 18 and 20, around 6ft tall and was wearing a grey hooded top with a black scarf over his mouth and blue jeans.

The robbery happened at about 7.30am on Wednesday, November 4.

Anybody with any information is asked to contact Pc Mabbett at Basildon on Essex Police 101.
