A COMMUNITY stalwart has been announced as Billericay town council’s Citizen of the Year.
Billericay Community Cinema organised a special This is Your Life moment for committee member and volunteer Carl Robert.
Just as the interval of Breakfast at Tiffany’s was about to start, the theme to This is Your Life rang out from the speakers and chairman Jim Devlin strode to the front of the audience, red book clutched tightly in hand.
Carl was then presented with the award.
Carl is both a volunteer and a key committee member of the Billericay Community Cinema, helping to plan the film schedule and design and create film trailers.
He also runs a community film production house VERTEXpictures which produces videos for non-profit and community groups, such as the Friends of Lake Meadows.
