A NEW cancer support and care centre will open in Southend next month.
The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity has opened a new Southend Cancer Support Centre in association with Southend Hospital’s Macmillan Information and Support Centre.
Located at St Luke’s Centre behind St Luke’s Church in Southend, the two organisations will be working in partnership to organise group workshops, offering clients complementary therapies and counselling, while Macmillan will provide support and advice.
Pat Hume, centre development manager for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, said: “We are delighted to be opening the new cancer support centre in partnership with Southend Hospital’s Macmillan Information and Support Centre.
“As a charity, one of our major objectives is to increase our presence in the Southend region, and the new centre will enable us to support more local people affected by cancer.
“We are also looking for premises in the town to open an HRCC charity shop.”
The centre, which is being launched next month, will initially be open every Tuesday and Thursday.
Bookings can be made by calling 01245 463 633 or emailing pat.hume@helenrollason.org.uk
