Member Code of Conduct

The Joint Essex County Council and Essex Fire Authority Standards (Consideration and Hearings) Sub-Committee met on Thursday 15 December 2011 to consider a complaint from a member of the public regarding Essex County Councillor, Mr. B S Wood.

The Sub-Committee found that Councillor Wood had breached paragraph 3(1) of the County Council's Code of Conduct, namely failing to treat a member of the public with respect in the way he addressed him at a meeting. The Sub-Committee agreed to sanction the Member by writing to him about his behaviour.
