For two years, Charlie Grafton, art therapist at the Taylor Centre, worked with patients using the clinic and Hadleigh Art Ministry to produce four mosaic panels depicting Southend seafront.

George Kemp, youth mayor of Southend, unveiled the artwork at a special ceremony.

Many of the patients who were involved in creating the mosaic said they gained new skills and confidence.

James Webb, 28, said: "It's helped me to teach a class on opportunities for people with mental health problems."
