Trialist Simon Thomas did his chances of a deal no harm with two goals for Colchester United

Trialist Simon Thomas scored twice as Colchester United reserves beat Southend United reserves 5-1 at Roots Hall yesterday. Thomas is currently with Ryman League premier division side Billericay Town and he was joined on the scoresheet by David Fox, Ian Henderson and Medy Elito.

Reading on the Col Utd web site Aidy has discovered a Gem. Well I watched this gem very carefully on every move he made on Tuesday night and I never once saw where he made a pass or headed ball count apart from the ball going to Carlisle players. So if this Gem is better than Baldwin in terms of football quality and skill Mr Boothroyd only wants hackers and hoovers to add further aggression to the team. Brighton or Southend never rushed to sign him when out on loan nor was he in Lamberts plans. Good luck to him and I hope im proved wrong.

Crazy, what you on about? Were you watching the same game, Thomas didn't play against Carlisle. He's a trialist, he played in the reserve game and was a very good player. I'm confused, are you talking about Heath? if so i again disagree. I think Heath played well, although he isn't a top player, but hes only filling in for Reid.

--Anyway speaking about the ACTUAL article, well done U's. This thomas sounds promising, lets hope he gets the nod ahead of gilly in the forthcoming games.

Up the U's
