Job Title: Features Layout Sub

The Role :

We’re looking for a creative and experienced layout sub for a new, specialist post on the team producing Essex’s two daily newspapers, the Echo and Gazette.

The successful applicant will be responsible for laying out and sub-editing pages for editorial supplements. The features sub will play an important role in the development of existing and new sections covering areas including lifestyle, leisure, entertainment, health, education and eating out.

At least two years subbing experience is required. If selected for interview we will need to see a selection of your published design work.

The Echo has editions for Southend, Basildon and Castle Point. The Gazette covers Colchester and north Essex. Both papers are performing well above the industry norm for sales retention.

The Person

Good organisational skills are essential to the role as is the ability to work well within a busy but vibrant team.
