Job Title: Echo Night Sub-Editor
Responsible to: Assistant Editor (Production)

Main Objectives:

• To design, lay out, proof read and copy sub pages for the Echo and other associated publications including special projects, features sections, supplements and niche products, under the direction of the Chief Sub and the Assistant Editor (Production).

Job Requirements

• A senior member of the editorial production team with specific responsibility for late working. The job requires subbing, layout and news editing skills.

• The night sub-editor will liaise with the late duty reporter, photographer, senior news executives and members of the pre-press department as required.

• The night sub-editor will complete and change news and sports pages late in the evening as required. He/she will be responsible for monitoring national and international news.

• He/she will also ensure appropriate items are uploaded to internet, in conjunction with the late reporter.
