Jo Wilkinson - running in Edinburgh

THURROCK Harriers' second claim member Jo Wilkinson will be hoping to help Great Britain to medal glory on Sunday.

For she is a member of the senior women's team, along with Basildon-born Faye Fullerton, for the World Cross-Country Championships in Edinburgh.

With conditions in Scotland likely to be far more condusive to British runners than many in the past, the senior women are expected to be our best medal pospects.

Wilkinson earned automatic selection for the team by finishing second in the senior women's race at the inter-counties championship in Nottingham.

Fullerton was fourth in that event.

The action from the Scottish capital will be shown live on BBC2 on Sunday afternoon.
