Strictly’s Brendan is back
4:20pm Wednesday 8th February 2012 in Features By Hannah Marsh
Villain, turned hero - Brendan Cole
HE’S known as the bad boy of Strictly Come Dancing – but last season saw him more dashing hero than villain as he escorted not one, but three ladies around the BBC dancefloor after two of his fellow professionals were laid low.
Brendan Cole, not only partnered Scottish pop-star Lulu in the popular TV dance contest, but stepped into the breach to dance with singer Holly Valance and Anita Dobson when both their partners were struck down with injuries.
With his profile higher than ever, he’ll be at the Cliffs Pavilion, Westcliff, this week with his hit live show – Brendan Cole: Live and Unjudged.
Now in it’s fourth season, the show sees a wild and whirling mix of dance styles as Brendan and his team show how the professionals do it when they haven’t got a celebrity on their arm.
He’ll be showing off the paso doble, the tango and the quickstep. It will all be to the sound of a 14-piece band, who’ll be playing popular numbers including tunes made famous by Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince and Robbie Williams.
It’s not just dance though, Brendan is as well known for his fire-cracker personality on Strictly, as he is his dance moves. He’ll be sharing stories and banter with the audience when he’s not showing off his dancing prowess.
His team of professional dancers also includes his brother Scott, who promises to lift the lid on some more intimate insights into his famous brother’s life.
Always a popular visitor, tickets are almost all sold out, but there are still a few left, so you'll have to be quick if you want to get your hands on one.
Brendan Cole is at the Cliffs Pavilion, Station Road, Westcliff, this Friday, February 10, at 8pm. Tickets are £27-£31. Call 01702 351135.
