RESIDENTS in Eastwood are planning to fight an application for 14 homes on the site of one house.
Developer Marden Homes has submitted plans to Southend Council to demolish 230 Rayleigh Road and build the homes with 28 parking spaces.
There is also an application for new vehicle access.
The site is surrounded by bungalows and residents have several concerns.
One nearby resident, David Sarbutt, said: "The application is to build 14 houses on just under an acre of land.
"The current house has been there since 1930, and is surrounded by bungalows."
Residents are combining forces to voice their concerns to the council.
Comments on the application must be submitted by April 11, quoting reference 0800323/FULM.
Marden Homes declined to comment.
