Residents ready to fight homes plan

RESIDENTS in Eastwood are planning to fight an application for 14 homes on the site of one house.

Developer Marden Homes has submitted plans to Southend Council to demolish 230 Rayleigh Road and build the homes with 28 parking spaces.

There is also an application for new vehicle access.

The site is surrounded by bungalows and residents have several concerns.

One nearby resident, David Sarbutt, said: "The application is to build 14 houses on just under an acre of land.

"The current house has been there since 1930, and is surrounded by bungalows."

Residents are combining forces to voice their concerns to the council.

Comments on the application must be submitted by April 11, quoting reference 0800323/FULM.

Marden Homes declined to comment.

This type of building design is what only can be described as
a'TIME BOMB WAITING TO HAPPEN'

And the Police will as normal pick up later problems with domestic disputes!!

Houses packed in so close to each other that the slightest flicker will cause the entire site to blow up and that WILL BE either 'kids playing in the street'
'cars parked blocking access'
'occupants parking vans or lorries overnight every night'
or just 'One anti Social family'

For the worst example I have seen look at the new site in Rayleigh Road Thundersley 5 detached properties which looked nice until 2 blocks of flats were built in front of the houses with JUST about enough room to give access for a Van between the flats I even doubt a removal Lorry would have enough room!!

Even New build Social Housing normally have more space between houses, which they need.

I appreciate land is at a premium but WHY pack so many in?
