tROPICAL Wings World of Wildlife in South Woodham Ferrers is bursting at the seams with spring arrivals.

It's not just your regular lambs, bunnies and chicks either.

The centre, in Wickford Road, boasts a collection of newborn otters, bats, polecats and wallabies among its ranks.

Visitors will get the chance to meet the new arrivals over the Easter weekend, as well as take part in a range of fun bank holiday activities.

"We're open every day over the Easter weekend," says Anna Noys, the centre's education officer.

"There's an Easter trail for children, Easter egg races and even more animal encounters than usual."

The animal encounters give visitors the chance to get up close with some of the centre's residents.

They include the opportunity to help feed the wallabies and watch the otters being fed, as well as hands-on experiences with the bugs, rats and rabbits.

Prizes are on offer to those who take part in the Easter trail, while the Easter egg race will feature an unusual twist, with the animal keepers taking on the centre's visitors in a race to the finish line.

"We've got plenty of new arrivals, and many more on their way, so it's set to be an exciting Easter time," promises Anna.

Tropical Wings World of Wildlife is open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.

Entry costs £6.75 for adults and £4.25 for children aged two to 15. Family tickets are also available.
