IT'S an exciting time at Mayhem. The Southend nightclub is expanding its empire, in Warrior Square, and tonight, it will be opening another room for clubbers to enjoy.
The appropriately named Room Two' will be officially opened by the one and only Jesse Metcalfe.
Star of the hit TV show Desperate Housewives, Jesse was meant to attend a night at Mayhem back in September but was unable to make it down. For his many Southend fans, however, opening the luxurious new nightclub zone tonight will more than make up for his absence.
Two of Mayhem's famous pods have been taken away to make space for the new room, which is situated towards the back of the club. The remaining pods have been moved and a false wall has been taken down to accomodate the new area.
Gavin Lloyd, promotions manager at Mayhem, said: "Room Two will help to take the club to another level and would do well in a Carlsberg advert!
"We've spent more than £1m doing it up and it's very luxurious - it's got white leather sofas and a mindblowing big screen that is 20ft wide and can be seen from across the club.
"The music will accomodate the four separate nights already held at Mayhem but in future, they could be changed to give a different flavour, if that's what clubbers want."
On Saturday, the celebrations will continue when a whole host of celebrities party the night away in Room Two so if you're in town, keep your eyes peeled for some star-spotting.
