UP and coming local covers band Replica are throwing open the stage and inviting other musicians to join them.

The band is hosting its first jam night this coming Monday (March 3) at the Jolly Friar in Basildon, with plans to make it a monthly event.

The idea is to provide a facility for meeting other aspiring musicians and singers and a chance to gain experience or showcase their music.

Steve Hobart from the Whitmore Way venue explains: "Whether a whole band or someone looking to join a band this is a chance to meet and play. Drums and backline are provided alhtough your own snare and symbols are required, so all that is needed is your instrument.

He adds: "This type of event, which will be held on the first Monday of the month, provides a mixed bag of entertainment hosted, in a large friendly pub like the Jolly Friar and is a recipe for a great night out."

To participate in the jam session just turn up and add your name to the list which opens at 8pm for a 15 -20 min slot. Places are limited so will be first come first served.
