Host of firms will exhibit at Careers and Training show

As the peak time for job vacancies approaches, the Gazette has relaunched an event to get Essex back to work.

Back by popular demand, our Essex Careers and Training event will take place on September 10 at the Town Hall, in Colchester.

It will see an array of companies exhibit what they have to offer potential employees.

There will be a chance for jobseekers to find out what’s available and opportunities to those who want to further their career in the jobs and training market.

Kelly Roast, events supervisor at Newsquest, says: “The show is also an ideal platform for businesses to promote not only job opportunities within their organisation, but also training opportunities and be part of the campaign Getting Essex Back to Work, which was supported by local businesses as well as Prime Minister David Cameron.

“Companies have the chance to meet prospective employees face-to- face.

“September is a peak time for vacancies, partly because this is when companies can snap up new graduates.

“According to stats, there are more job vacancies nationally in September than at any other time.”

Sponsored by East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, which provides a link between the military and civilian communities, it will showcase companies such as Informa, Forest Homecare, William H Brown, Newsquest, Swanstaff Recruitment, TLC Care Homes Ltd and TES 2000.

Kelly says: “We have such a wide variety of companies attending.

“For example, TES 2000 has gained a reputation in delivering safety critical services in railtrack infrastructure. Its services include projects planning, track maintenance and renewal, possession support and electrification.

“This annual event is here to get the people of Colchester and surrounding areas into suitable jobs or on the best training courses to improve their chances of getting the right job role in future.”

The jobs’ fair is a must for those who have recently left school or college, received training or academic results or are just looking for the next step, a change in career or a new challenge.

Hundreds of jobseekers are expected to come along.

Entry to the Gazette Careers and Training Event is free.

The first 300 who attend will receive a free goody bag along with a copy of the Gazette.

The NCP at Nunn’s Road, Colchester is also offering discounted parking for those attending the event – you can park there for two hours for the cost of just £2.

Don’t miss the bumper Gazette Careers and Training Supplement in the Gazette on Tuesday, September 9.
