The UK’s largest training centre for the hairdressing industry is busy recruiting the next crop of stylists-to-be.
The message, as ever, from Essex-based Central Training Group, is that opportunities for trained and ambitious young people are unbounded.
Central Training is itself basking in a range of successes, which include an Ofsted report which rated it good in every area of inspection.
Based in Southend, Central Training also has a strong presence in Colchester, where it trains staff on-site at a range of salons. As well as hairdressing skills, it runs course in graphics and business administration.
Chairman and founder Martin Kolton, who was awarded the MBE for his services in training generations of hairdressers, said: “Opportunities within the hairdressing industry, and the demand for good staff, are as strong or stronger than ever.
“It is our responsibility to see talented people receive the very best start to their careers.
“We have always put the needs of learners at the heart of our business. Our effectiveness can be measured by the fact that last year, ninety-seven per cent of our entrants progressed to full apprenticeships.”
Alongside the Ofsted report, Central Training has recently been awarded Investor in People Status and Investor in Diversity status, and the Matrix Quality Standard award.
Mr Kolton said: “We have an open door and our training methods have attracted students from across the UK and from every walk of life.”
The Central team is preparing to help young people awaiting exam results consider and chose from the range of options available to them. It is also busy spreading the message about the wide opportunities offered by a career in hairdressing.
