IF you’re a die-hard fan of all the old Motown classics, you’ll be singing in your seat – and dancing on your way out – as popular show Motown and Philadelphia on tour makes its way back to the Cliffs Pavilion, Westcliff.
The show features original Drifters member Roy G Hemmings. He will be reliving all of the old favourites as he helps celebrate 50 years of Motown.
To take the audience back through the golden years, there will be hits by the Supremes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, the Four Tops, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, the Jacksons, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Ritchie.
Roy is the longest serving member of the Drifters. The famous frontman has appeared at prestigious venues around the world, including a memorable performance at the White House when Bill Clinton was president.
The star will be joined on stage by the talents of the Love Supremes, as well as the Tops and Tempts, who will be bringing to life some of the legendary vocal groups of Detroit.
The singers will be strongly backed up by seven-piece outfit the Dictionary of Soul, under the musical direction of arranger and saxophonist Anna Brooks, who will provide the musical support for the evening.
Motown and Philadelphia on tour Cliffs Pavilion, Station Road, Westcliff.
