THEY’VE been making headlines for all the right reasons as they launched their first ever tour last week. 

Now Bananarama are heading for Southend - and that’s really saying something..

The girl group that defined the eighties -Siobhan Fahey, Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward - will be thrilling fans at the Cliffs Pavilion on Saturday December 2.

Bananarama made it into the Guinness Book Of Records as the most successful female group of all time on account of the fact they’d had more hit singles than any other girl band ever. 

To date they have had 30 chart hits. They hit the top of charts around the world. In the US, Venus became their first #1 single on the Billboard chart.

Their combined record sales were over 40 million.

Although they are in their 50s, the trio have been proving hey still had their trademark moves of 35 years ago as theykicked off their tour in Blackpool, bouncing around on stage, and belting out favourites such as Robert De Niro’s Waiting , I Heard a Rumour, It Aint What You Do,and Cruel Summer.
