The Vamps star Brad Simpson has said reality show Celebrity First Dates shows the vulnerable side of famous people that is normally hidden from view, ahead of his own appearance on the programme.

Brad, 20, will appear on tonight’s episode of the Channel 4 show and said it will reveal something fans do not usually get to see.

The singer told the Press Association: “I think it’s a very heart-warming programme, there is no one right way to find true love. It’s nice to see a vulnerable side of celebrity because people don’t see that.”

The show sees celebrities matched with members of the public for a blind date over dinner.

Brad has previously said that it can be hard to find a partner while living in the limelight.

However, he was adamant it would not be the start of a prolific reality television career, adding: “It’s the only one I wanted to do. I don’t think any of us want to step in to (reality TV) much but it was really, really fun.”

As to whether he found true love in front of the cameras, he remained tight-lipped, saying: “You will have to wait and see.”

Brad was joined by his bandmates James McVey and Connor Ball, as well as the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, rapper Tinchy Stryder and singer Jessie Ware to welcome musicians to the capital for International Busking Day, which takes place tomorrow.

Celebrity First Dates airs on Channel 4 at 9pm.
