One lucky Orphan Black fan is being given a chance to make their mark in the final season of the show with a special walk-on part.

At a panel at Comic-Con in San Diego on Friday, actress Tatiana Maslany announced the contest to celebrate the end of the show, with details due to be announced soon – probably because the producers admitted they hadn’t created the character yet.

If you’re worried about potentially messing up the scene as a walk-on, don’t worry because the cast are practised hands at doing just that, as the brilliant blooper reel for season four shows.

The whole gang of Jordan Gavaris (Felix), Kristian Bruun (Donnie), Kevin Hanchard (Art) and co-creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson were there to chat about what to expect in the final season, take us on a brilliant trip through the past four series and just generally make us laugh.

Graeme explained why they had to bid farewell to the BBC America sci-fi show.

“We sort of had five seasons in mind, and the thing that we just didn’t want to do is get kind of soft around the middle.

“We think that it’s better to cancel yourself than to get cancelled, than to peter out,” he explained.

But Tatiana admitted that she was being kept in the dark about how it might all end for Sarah, Alison, Cosima, Helena, Rachel, MK, and Krystal.

She said: “I sat in the writers’ room for a day early on in the season to hear a little bit about how it’s starting, but I have no idea.”

Graeme did say that there was a possibility of doing holiday specials of the show.

“A Very Helena Christmas!” joked Kevin.

Tatiana was nominated last week for an Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a drama series and was given a huge standing ovation by the crowd.

Asked if she thought she could win, she said: “No! Definitely not, but what an honour.”

As for what they’ll do after the show ends, it definitely seems like a rap career could be on the cards.
