We’re all used to the strange musings of Gwyneth Paltrow, but her latest “must-do” lifestyle thing is a Mugworth V-Steam – a spa treatment for your vagina.

Yep. She says if you’re in LA “you have to do it”.

Among the high-tech infrared heat treatments and traditional Korean sauna therapies, this spa’s “golden ticket”, as she calls it, is a vagina steam.

Confused? The actress explains: “You sit on what is essentially a mini-throne, and a combination of infrared and mugwort steam cleanses your uterus, et al.

“It is an energetic release — not just a steam douche — that balances female hormone levels. If you’re in LA, you have to do it.”

Sounds, um, weird and unnecessary. Trust Gwennie to tell us about a must-do we hadn’t even heard of.

This lady’s been though, and looks pretty happy about it. That’s what you sit on – less throne more toilet we’d say.

Apparently the V-Steam is inspired by an ancient ritual practised for hundreds of years in Korea.

Tikkun’s website claims “the steaming treatment stimulates the production of hormones to maintain uterine health, aids regular menstrual cycles, clears up hormonal acne, promotes circulation and helps correct digestive disorders”.

And a whole lot of other things we’re not totally convinced about.

The signature treatment costs $50 (£33) for half an hour, but there are other variations including slimming v-steams and infertility v-steams. Oh there’s one for men too. We’ll leave that up to your imagination.
