Which? Says Anti-cellulite Knickers are Pants!

If like me, you're one of the many women that have just booked their cheap holidays to the Balearics or Greek islands and are dreading the thought of bearing all in a bikini don't worry, you're certainly not alone.

It seemed that M&S had come to the rescue of womankind with their Anti-cellulite knickers. This blush saving invention has been put up on a pedestal by many, inspiring us to buy that titchy tiny bikini, safe in the knowledge that these &pound29.50 fabric miracles would smooth out the skin, and make our bum and thighs well and truly bikini ready.

Packaging that states that these knickers are "proven to reduce the visible signs of cellulite" is pretty much all that has been needed to see these less than sexy looking pants fly off the shelves. Fabric that is enriched in Vitamin E, Caffeine and Aloe Vera is claimed to slim, tone and smooth the skin to banish the orange peel effect that all women dread.

Sounds too good to be true? Well according to the consumer watchdog Which? It may well be. Dashing the hope held by women nationwide Which? comes in and diminishes those claims.

The watchdog employed a dermatologist and two consultant plastic surgeons to put M&S' claims to the test and came back with the result that the evidence was highly doubtful. They advised that any tight knickers, with or without the added vitamins, would have a similar effect on our skin, but that it wouldn't completely diminish cellulite; rather just smooth the skin so it is not quite so visible, dependant on the lifestyle etc. of the wearer.

So now we're only a matter of weeks away from our cheap holidays to the Balearics or elsewhere in the world, in a complete state of panic about our wobbly bits. We thought it was going to be easy, sit at our desks eating cream cakes wearing these big tight pants and get the body of our dreams. Now we're faced with two choices and neither of them sounds very attractive. The first is to dig out our trainers and hot foot it to the gym and the second is to wear our orange peel loud and proud!

Somebody pass me the trainers quick!
