COMEDY specialists East Essex Players’ latest production, Stopped Interrupting, by Nick Broadhead, gives the cast an unrivalled chance to practise their accents.
At the heart of the comedy is a playwithin a play, which keeps mutating as the authors change the plot.
Jim Wolfe says: “Each of the actors has to master two completely different voices, that of their character and that of the person their character is playing. This has been a challenge, to say the least.”
In the play within a play, a householder, Ray Marple (played by Mark Delf) discovers two burglars in his house. After he is forced to shoot one of them, supposedly “in self defence”, he calls the police.
Other cast members include veteran EEP performer Jean Colclough, Fiona McCarthy, Chris Okamback, and Rob Norman.
