A KUNG-FU spectac-ular is making its way to the Cliffs Pavilion direct from China.
Immortal Chi is a new show from the team behind the world-renowned production, Shaolin Warriors.
A mix of Chinese martial arts, multi-media images, and an original music score incorporating the Chinese Girl drummers, it follows the story of a Tai Chi Master and his ultimate challenge to regain his secret inner energy – known as his Immortal Chi.
Conceived and directed by acclaimed Cirque director Erick Villeneuve, along with the Cirque du Ciel creative team, the production incorporates traditional Chinese Wushu techniques with acrobatics, comedy, traditional weaponry, and authentic Chinese musical instruments.
Erick says: “Immortal Chi is based on the Tai Chi philosophy that puts emphasis on the harmony between human beings and nature, and the physical and mental balance of people in this modern world.
“I think all of us may learn a lot from Tai Chi philosophy to face the challenges of this fast changing world.”
