HAVE a grand adventure this week with magical duo Morgan and West and their time travelling magic act.

Former teachers Rhys Jones and Rob Hemmens created their act of Victorian time travelling magicians as a way of keeping their students’ attention, although the pair have been together for more than five years after meeting at Oxford University.

Rhys says: “Our story is a bit unusual as we haven’t always been into magic. It started at university where we both started learning magic and it became a bit of a competition as to who could learn the most tricks.

“We take on the guise of Morgan and West, Victorian conjurors who find a time machine in 1888 and go and settle in modern day life which they prefer.”

Since taking their act on the road, the duo have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe numerous times and were the winners of ITV’s Penn and Teller: Fool Us 2011 award.

Now after another smash hit run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Morgan and West are launching their new tour.

A Grand Adventure is a comedy rollercoaster chockfull of jaw-dropping, brain-bursting, gasp-eliciting feats of magic.

This year, the time travelling Victorian magicians have lost the secrets to all of their tricks and, to get them back, have to cross continents, meddling with miscreants and sneaking into secret societies.

The duo, who had sell-out performances in Australia, where they were nominated for a comedy award, are back in the UK to catch the crooks, recover their quarry and confound the crowds.
