ALL the sights and fun of the countryside – plus some exciting extras – were on show at a country fair.
The Essex Game and Country Fair, which took place at Barleylands, Billericay, had three arenas with a number of displays to delight the thousands of people who attended.
There was something for everyone, from falconry exhibitions to the finals of exhilarating horseboarding, from scurry driving to the Shetland Grand National.
Alongside the arenas, there was also the opportunity to try out target field sports, such as air guns and archery with tuition from The ATEO Airgun and pistol shooting, fishing on the lake, field archery with Adrian Caddy and clay shooting with Claytargets.
The World of Dogs area featured minor breed’s marquees, The Gundog Clinic for training and advice, The Gundog Multi Scurry and the fun dog show competition. There were also owl shows, hamster displays, puppet shows, make and take areas, children’s amusements and more.
Visitors could also enjoy the display of steam engines and see what can be achieved in twenty minutes in the Chainsaw Carving Arena.
The Craft Village was open and there were chefs demonstrating dishes in the Food Glorious Food Show in the country kitchen and the seafood experts from Crabstock giving talks.
