MUSIC legend Roy Orbison, who died in 1988, still has a worldwide following.

Fans will be pleased to know a multimedia tribute show – Roy Orbison and Friends – is on its way to the Palace Theatre, Westcliff.

Barry Steele has won acclaim from around the country for his uncanny likeness to the star and his ability to put the “Caruso of Rock” back on stage.

It’s a tribute with a difference. Not only will it be led by Barry, who will bring the character of the Big O back to life, complete with trademark dark glasses and soaring vocals, but it will feature original film footage from the era.

Hit songs from the Sixties through to the Eighties will be performed, backed by a full band.

Also added to the mix will be the special star guest tributes, promising that you’ll be in for a “fusion of rock ’n’ roll and contemporary musical genius” treats, all on one stage, in one night.

The show starts at 7.30pm on Sunday, July 13, at the theatre in London Road.

Tickets, £19.50 or £18.50 concessions, are available from southendtheatres. or by calling 01702 351135.
